ST GEORGE AND THE DRAGON.......HAPPY ST GEORGE'S DAY 23 APRIL 2014

ST GEORGE AND THE DRAGON!

"COME NO FURTHER DRAGON! OR I SAINT GEORGE WILL SLAY YE!"

"Sir Walter? " asks the Dragon confused " Who is this dragon you will slay? "
" Why you Dragon ! Pass not over the red cross of St George unless you are prepared to die!"

" Sir Walter! It is Gunther ! Have you not the looking glasses so you can see it is me ? "

Sir Walter looks closer through his tired old eyes " Gunther lad! What an earth are you doing pretending to be a Dragon on this day ! " he cries " You'll get your self killed!"

" I am not pretending to be the Dragon !" says Gunther
"Then why are you wearing the puppet dragon ? "
" I am!" exclaims Gunther in surprise " It was Toby who says wear this hat Gunther and go find Sir Walter you'll be dying to meet him!"

"Why that little tike! I'll be dealing with him later " says Sir Walter " Now Gunther lad , do you not know the famous story of St George and the Dragon? "
" Nein! " replies Gunther starting forward
" DO NOT CROSS THE FLAG OR YOU MUST DIE!" shouts Sir Walter making Gunther jump
" You English are Nut cases ! " says Gunther getting annoyed
" Never mind lad you'll soon be just as crackers once you've lived here a while " then laughing he crosses the flag and taking Gunther by the shoulder says " Come away to the kitchen and I will tell you all about Saint George and his Dragon "
" Does this tale include cake ? " asks Gunther
" Yes "
" Then lead on Sir Wa..I mean Saint George "........

  2. THAT Toby!!!!! Had begun to think that he had turned over a new leaf. of late...but obviously still up to his old tricks!
Hope that Sir Walter-George duly chastises him for the day!

A very happy day to all 'US' English Sasha collectors and Frido/Trendon dolls!

Very clever indeed! (Mind you I was beginning to think that the same of YOU as your posts had become much more subdued of late..... BUT glad to see that YOU haven't and that it was just a quiet lull in the proceedings!)

    1. Yes Toby is still just as naughty as always!! I'm sure Sir Walter will sort him out for getting Gunther nearly skewered !!
For subdued should I read dull....... :) I'll try to do better as many idea's are waiting on back burner for the time and energy to arrive on the blog!! :)

    2. Never DULL! Just not been as 'devilishly' naughty as it can be at times!
I know all about the time and energy that is involved with keeping up these blogspots.....so I'm certainly NOT complaining in any shape or form as I would be 'lost' without them to look forward too!

  4. Happy St Georges Day and Happy Birthday to the late William Shakespeare too of course! Oh and Happy 4th Birthday to my husbands grandson Jake, who is coming over to see his grandpa tomorrow from the UK.....a busy week!
I enjoyed your little story Dee, very cute and Toby is a very naughty boy to have told Gunther to wear the dragon puppet on his head.....Sir Walter is right, he could have got poor Gunther into some serious trouble....even death!!!!
Actually today is also a celebration in Catalonia, here in Spain, as St George is also the patron saint in that area. I believe that on this day in that area, young men are supposed to give their young ladies a single red rose whilst the girls present their young men with a book! In Barcelona lots of the book shops will have authors visiting to sign their books...so it's also called Book Day there aswell! Bit of useless information for you!!! :)
