I CANNOT BELIEVE IT!

Do you remember this room I began trying to clear way back last year ?

Full of my doll things !

 Organised... not!

This was back in 2015 , it was improved on and boxes bought and some things sold and tidied but still full to over flowing!

Well finally it was a case of it's all got to be moved NOW!

EMPTY! I've been robbed? ..... No but the new bathroom is about to be put into what was my doll storage room , so everything as  been moved elsewhere !

The other side of the room and the door! The last time it looked like this they were laying the new carpet a few months after we moved in , over eleven years ago.

I'd love to say that I've sold loads of things and it all now fits into a few large boxes and they are tucked away in a corner ready for use! However I have sold quite a few things but the bulk and I so mean bulk of it is now scattered round the house and in my Sasha Studio!
So still much to do in the less is more department!

  1. Oh I can so relate! I'm sure at the moment it seems there is no end in sight but it really will all come together nicely and be worth it in the end!!! Honestly!

  2. I too am rather good at this 'moving around' to other rooms or garage skills rather than 'moving on' now no longer needed/wanted items for good!
    I think it's called 'hoarding.'

    1. I believe you are right about the hoarding Kendal but I've yet to use the car boot but it as crossed my mind!! lol

    2. BTW the car boot is only used for QUICK fixes when unexpected family or friends pop round...but have luckily given me ten minutes warning! Usually a few minutes or so after they have gone it manages to return inside and all's well!

    3. See there's the problem , I'd put it in there and not remember until I needed to use the boot and would open it in some supermarket car park to find it full to bursting! So best avoid that :)

  3. I'm on the official, international board of hoarders. I am not able to cure myself - no matter how much sorting, moving on or throwing out I do, the mound of belongigns never gets smaller.
Where is all the STUFF, Dee? Under the bed(s)? Downstairs in the dining room so recently shown as neat and tidy? Out in the garden under a tarp?

    1. I'm a gold medal winner for hoarding ! But it's usually the men you hoarder of the year as they hoard things like a piece of wood or some such , because it may come in handy!, my hoardings things of beauty... cough cough...
The lovely table is covered from one end to the other, the Sasha studio is fit to bursting! and other things are in living room and anywhere I found a piece of floor ! ;)

  4. If I had a doll stuff room, it would look just like yours (before it was cleared of course). I'm very bad at parting with anything, so there are still some years old unfinished doll house projects in our cellar and in the attic... luckily my budget doesn't allow to buy lots of Sasha clothes, and I'm a slow seamstress and even slower knitter.
Will you get a new dolls room? I've heard about "less is more", but I feel it's very hard to practise... at least for me.

    1. Once upon a time the doll room was nice and tidy but that was before I had sooo much! I am quite good at selling things on but its the time and energy to sort it all out now that there is so much! Unfinished dollhouses I have some of them too! :)
There will be no new doll room for now , so it will need to be reduced to a manageable amount for storing... so easy to say...

  5. Girls...just let it go, let it go! You will feel so much better not having so much stuff...and everything will appear tidy too :)
Of course, there is a down side in everything...normally when you realise the thing that you could really do with you have already given to the charity shop the week before!

    1. Why should I be surprised at you singing a song from FROZEN... :) I do actually, dare I say this, agree that having less STUFF would be so much easier all round but you are either a non stuff person or a stuff person. I could never live in a minimalist house.. wheres the heart? wheres the personality?
and yes as soon as it's gone , something will happen and you'll wish you had it! But I am leaning to the a little less won't hurt.... ;)

  6. Well done you! That was a mammoth task to clear that room and find a place for it all around the house *gasp*
Did you build a new shed in the garden for it all? Board the loft??? Dig a cellar?!

    1. Why thank you Jane :) If only I'd been able to find a permanent home for everything instead of a , you'll need to move twenty boxes to find what you are looking for if you are lucky home, for them!
I may need to work on Paul agreeing to build a doll room extension on the side of the house? or maybe move his greenhouse and put in a standalone doll/hobby room? Somehow I don't think he'll agree.... ;)
